Chanel Illusion d'Ombre in Illusoire
MAC eyeshadow in Hocus Pocus
NARS eyeshadow duo in Dogon (used and swatched in this post)
I've only used Chanel Illusoire once since getting it so I can't comment on the staying power yet, but so far, I'm getting the feeling it's just an expensive version of the Buxom Stay-There Eye Shadows. The two have very similar moussey/spongey textures, share the same super shimmer factor, and the two shades that I have (Chanel Illusoire and Buxom Pug) are very similar, with the main difference being that Illusoire has purple undertones while Pug is more silvery. I still think Illusoire is gorgeous, but I'd hesistate to say it's really worth $36 (the Buxom shadows have 0.02oz less product than the Chanel ones, but they also cost only $17). And if you're wondering why half of my pot is missing, it's because I'm sharing it with a friend :)
I just talked about Dogon in yesterday's post, and I've been obsessed with using Hocus Pocus to darken up my outer v.
Buxom Big & Healthy Lip Polish in Sandy (top) and MAC Eye Kohl in Teddy
I also wore Buxom Sandy in yesterday's post, but I honestly feel like it's one of the best nude lipglosses out there. It has really nice pigmentation, although not quite opaque, and it's not a corpse-like nude shade at all. In fact, it has the perfect balance of peachy and pink undertones, in my opinion, so it's not too orange, brown, or pink...it's just perfect. Those who have lips that are sensitive to plumping lip products may want to steer clear, though, as this one has a tingling effect, although I don't personally find it painful or irritating at all.
I've been using Teddy non-stop since getting it a few weeks ago. I love the metallic sheen it has because I sometimes find that brown eyeliners can look quite flat and boring without a lil' somethin' somethin', you know what I mean? It also doesn't hurt that it complements blue-toned eye makeup perfectly, as I've recently fallen in love with using the NARS Dogon duo :)

I've also been loving this seemingly boring neutral, brown LORAC palette I scored off of Hautelook a few weeks ago for $14!
Super tacky packaging, in my opinion :-/
LORAC Haute Couture Palette in Sand Tropez (Hautelook exclusive)
LORAC Sand Tropez Palette
The pale cream shade is almost exactly like MAC Brule, except with much better pigmentation. The two middle shades are both shimmery, and the peachy gold shade makes for an effortless yet surprisingly pretty lid shade. The darkest brown shade is matte and is great for darkening up the outer v or using it as liner with an angled liner brush. Contrary to my craptastic swatch of it, it doesn't actually apply patchy like that :)
I've been wearing the peachy gold shade on the lid, the lighter brown shade in the crease, the darkest brown shade in the outer v, and using the pale cream shade to blend everything out and as an eyebrow bone highlight. Despite the shades looking painfully boring in the palette, together they create a fantastic, cohesive palette that is perfect for simple, everyday eye makeup. So glad I got it!
A gift from the lovely Danielle :)
Revlon nail enamel in Carbonite (supposedly similar to Chanel le vernis in Graphite)
I guess I would describe Carbonite as a gunmetal shade but with a slightly golden-green tone to it. Very pretty indeed :)
Carlson Norwegian Cod Liver Oil in Lemon (left) and Madre Labs Moisturizing Body Wash in Rosemary Mint
So I ran out of my bottle of Cod Liver Oil soon after I moved to my new apartment back at the end of July, and I thought, Hmm, I wonder if I could get away with not using it anymore and still having clear skin? I shouldn't have wondered. The answer was no, I could not get away with it...at least not for very long. It took my skin about a month to start acting up again and before I knew it, my skin was a mess. I quickly ordered more Cod Liver Oil off of Amazon and within a week of using it again, I could see my skin starting to clear up. Lesson learned!
The shower gel works just like any other shower gel - it has great lather, although I don't find it particularly moisturizing considering it's a moisturizing formula - but the reason I'm so obsessed with it is because of the scent. It smells like what it claims to smell like, rosemary mint, but with a strong emphasis on the mint, and maybe with a touch of menthol? Not everyone's cup-o-tea, I'm sure, but I LOVE using it because it' so refreshing and just seems to wake me up immediately...it's like using Vick's Vapor Rub in the shower. LOL!
