You know those days when your lips are parched and chapped and you're rummaging around your bag for something (anything!) to soothe them, but all you can find is that matte red lipstick you wore the night before that makes your lips feel as dry as the Sahara desert (albeit a fierce desert)? Luckily, Burt's Bees lip color collection is comprised of four handbag-friendly products that work overtime --- moisture for when your lips are suffering and color for when you want a bit of beautification, all in formulas that can be applied on-the-go without a mirror. Easy, comfortable and pretty? That's what I'm talkin' about.
Lip Shine in Pucker ($7) is a hydrating, sheer berry gloss with wet-shine that can be adjusted depending on the amount applied. It creates a fresh, juicy pout without the tackiness. My favorite part? It smells deliciously of peaches (although I think it's probably the apricot wax). I adore shades like Pucker in the summer for an easy wash of glossy color. Key ingredients: apricot wax and sunflower seed oil
Lip Shimmer in Peony ($5) is a shimmery, ever so slightly frosty tawny pink balm scented with invigorating peppermint oil. It's a great MLBB shade, and the bit of sparkle keeps it from looking flat. I enjoy the slight tingle upon application, and despite its name, I don't find it too shimmery for daytime. Key ingredients: vitamin E, beeswax, sunflower seed and coconut oils
Lip Gloss in Spring Splendor ($9) is a vanilla-scented rose gloss with a touch of shimmer and sheer pigmentation. It's non-sticky and moisturizing, but it doesn't last incredibly long on my lips. I also find it takes quite a few dips of the doe-foot applicator into the tube in order to pick up enough product to coat my lips. Key ingredients: beeswax and sunflower seed oil
Tinted Lip Balm in Sweet Violet ($7) is a nourishing plum-tinted balm. Oftentimes, when I've let my lips reach a state of extreme dryness, they tend to lose their color as well. The touch of pinky-plum pigment Sweet Violet provides perks up my lips instantaneously, while the shea butter nurses them back to a state of comfortable hydration. Key ingredients: shea butter, beeswax, coconut and sunflower seed oil

Three common features of Burt's Bees lip color products are that they are 100% natural, ultra-moisturizing and have easy-to-wear sheer to light pigmentation that is impossible to mess up and ideal for applying on-the-go. Because of this, they make the perfect multi-tasking lip products.
:: For example, Pucker on top of a bright pink or red lipstick livens up the color just a smidge while also providing an always welcomed dose of hydration. Adding a little gives a natural sheen, while applying a bit more can transition a matte lip into a glossy one. Who doesn't love versatility?
:: I love mixing Peony with nude lipsticks when I feel like there's something missing. The bit of shimmer seems to do the trick. Alternatively, I'm also quite fond of wearing it alone with a touch of a natural-toned lip liner around the edge, as I find the liner crisps up the overall look just enough, transitioning Peony from a tinted lip balm of sorts to more of a sheer lipstick.
:: Spring Splendor is lovely on its own, but I also love it paired with virtually any pink lipstick. It's the quintessential spring pink shade that would flatter just about anyone.
:: Lastly, Sweet Violet is a favorite of mine to use for prepping my lips for lipsitick application. It's moisturizing but not too slippy, so it doesn't compromise the lasting ability of whatever lipstick I choose to layer on top of it. The sheer color seems to complement everything (note: the lip swatch shows the color built up). Sweet Violet is my favorite of the bunch!
Not sure which shades best suit you? Try Burt's Bees Lip Shade Finder. It's a brilliant little tool that takes into account your eye color, hair color, whether you look better in gold or silver, as well as if you're 'up for an adventure' or if you already have a go-to shade you gravitate towards. I did it and got four completely new shades that I'm interested in trying now!
